All-Church Breakfast Sunday - August 29 - 10:00 AM

Mmmmmm, breakfast. In keeping with the desire to build fellowship among the MVFF family, we are going to have a pre-church breakfast potluck on Sunday, August 29 at 10:00. Please send Brent and Nicole an email to RSVP (
bnj.breining@cox.net), and contact them if you have any questions. Below are the food categories divided up by group so that we have a variety of food.
- Surell Lighthouse: pastries (eg, donuts, scones, biscotti)
- Norberg/Eason Lighthouse: fruit
- Sigler Gonzalez Lighthouse: juices
- Servant Leadership team: main dish (eg, scrambled eggs, casserole)
- If you're not part of a Lighthouse group, fear not. Just bring something breakfast-like to share.
- The church will provide coffee and a selection of teas

A note from our women's pastor, Jenn:
I've really been asking God how to go forward from here. Summer is coming to an end, we're all wrapping up our vacations and getting back into the swing of life. And I'd like to have a discussion about where we are as women, as wifes, as friends. as mothers, daughters, etc...
Please take the rest of the week to think about a few things. and we will discuss them. Please don't feel as though you need to come and share, but feel free to come and be encouraged that:
- God loves you
- God wants to do great things for you
- God wants to spend time with you
- We (the women in your life) want to support you and encourage you in all these things.
Please join us on Friday night. I'll provide the index cards and pens...I'd like for us to think about a few things and I'll discuss them more on Friday night.
- What 3 characteristics would I want to describe me. Essentially goals for life? (no, despite my reputation of talking about me, this does not mean what 3 characteristics would I want you to describe me as ;) I'm somewhat scared of those answers!...this is all about you girls).
- What would I like to ask God to do for me/ show me/ comfort me in (etc) the next few months?
- What would I like to get from these super awesome monthly ladies nights?
As we go into fall, the leaves will start to change colors, glorious colors and then those leaves will be shed so new blossoms can come in the spring. Much like us. When we allow God to work in us he changes us and it's beautiful as it starts, then we go into our growth period where we essentially get a revitalization as we grow and then eventually blossom into the new. I realize that this is often analogized...but who cares! it's a pretty good one. Please spend some time prayerfully considering these questions for Friday night...just let them percolate. No need to come with an outline or scriptural references (unless of course you want to). It will essentially be an open mike night for growth with Jesus ;)

HELP MVFF BY SHOPPING!

Help us raise support for our ministry to the poor, orphaned, and captive through ONLINE SHOPPING!
Here's how it works:
1) Go to www.ShopToEarn.net/MVFF
2) From there, you can select from hundreds of retailers. Click on the store you want and it takes you straight to their site and you do your on-line shopping like normal
3) But the BEST PART is that because you went through MVFF's site to get to the retailer's site, the retailer gives back to MVFF a percentage of all your online purchases!
All proceeds raised through this mechanism will go to fund our ministry to the poor, orphaned, and captive, such as our "Christmas for the Homeless," missions trips to Ethiopia, or efforts to sponsor orphans in Ethiopia.

This is just a friendly reminder that church this Sunday (and going forward) will be held in our new space! Here are the details:
New Church Location: 5200 Eisenhower Avenue, Suite 200
Time: 11 AM
Parking (when facing building): On left hand side of building, and in front of building. If that parking lot is full, we can use the parking spaces that belong to the building to our immediate right.
Metro: Van Dorn (Blue Line). When you come out of the metro parking lot, take a left. Then take the next left onto Eisenhower Avenue. We're less than half a mile down on the right (about 10 minutes from metro).
