| Lighthouses: MVFF's Small Groups |

Our vision is to dedicate our homes or local gathering places to serve as “lighthouses” that will shine the light of Jesus Christ into the communities in which we live, by:
(i) establishing a safe and welcoming setting for anyone who is interested in exploring what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ;
(ii) fostering a spiritually dynamic environment that will challenge, inspire, encourage, and grow believers in their walks with God; and
(iii) providing a sanctuary where those who are wounded, burdened, and oppressed may find healing, rest, and freedom in Christ.
Our lighthouses will serve as extensions of our larger church, functioning as smaller churches that minister to the needs of the people in our church, meet the needs of people in their communities, and pursue spiritual growth in Jesus. We believe we are called to be the body of Christ 7 days a week, not just on Sunday. Lighthouses are one of our vehicles for doing that.
Lighthouses are led by Lighthouse Pastors, leaders in our body who have served faithfully and who humbly shepherd and love others.

In addition to ministering to people within MVFF, this lighthouse has a unique focus on developing relationships and sharing the love of Jesus with people in D.C. who do not yet know Him. The lighthouse meets on Tuesday nights at a gathering place in DC (right now, the food court in the Shops at National Place, 529 14th St NW, near Metro Center). Each meeting will have a loose, Holy Spirit-driven format consisting of fellowship, discussion and a time of prayer. All are welcome and we have a special heart for families with children, as well as single parents. It is our desire to see families transformed through prayer and fellowship in a warm, caring environment. We will have a play area available for children, though parents are responsible for their own children.

This Lighthouse will meet Wednesdays at 7 pm in the D.C. area and will focus on teaching and facilitating each individual's spiritual growth. Unfortunately, childcare cannot be provided at this time. Please contact Heather with any questions (siglerhjc@hotmail.com or call 301-801-9053).
